LIVE STREAM CLASSES I’m settling into my new yoga space. It’s really feeling rather good in my new temporary space. A few adaptions like moving furniture, making use of bright lighting as well as some strategically placed white cloth has transformed it into a space that works well. I guess we’re having to adapt to our current situation and get creative. It’s cool. I’ve also gotten to grips with using zoom to live stream my classes and it now feels like a comfortable alternative to face to face classes, some of which I’m likely to continue with on a long-term basis. That’s not to say it hasn’t taken time to get use to using this platform and way of delivering yoga. I’m in a room by myself however, I do feel a sense of connection with it being in the real time, in the moment. As a way of sharing yoga, it works. The funny thing is that going online, doing videos and the like was on my to-do list the for the second half of the year. However, lockdown, social isolation and distancing has catapulted me into putting this into place sooner than intended. And what we now have are lots of yoga teachers delivering their classes online. The good thing about this is that it’s making yoga far more accessible, especially for individuals who probably wouldn’t have had the confidence to step foot into a yoga studio, community center or other space. Being accessible from the comfort of one’s home must make it more appealing for some. Here’s a rundown of my current schedule if you fancy joining in, giving yoga a try: Mon 10.00-11.15 and 19.00-20.15, Weds 18.00-19.15 and Thurs 10.30-11.45 Monday 10-11.15am Join URL: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/625372124 Monday 7- 8.15pm Join URL: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/635873709 Weds 6-7.15pm Join URL: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/602139707 Thurs 10.30 -11.45am Join URL: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/493052798 Please contact me for the password in order to access a class As everyone’s personal and financial circumstances differ, I’m asking for contributions of £4.00 upwards. What you feel you is doable is up to you. If you're with MoveGB, you simply book as you normally would. The yoga I share is open to all abilities and levels of experience. I’m a massive fan of breath-work, the slowing down process and really feeling into the body. The practices can be slow or more dynamic. I’ll encourage you to gently to ease your body into physical asana (postures) however, only as far as your body wants to go. After all there’s no competition in yoga. I feel we are often in competition with ourselves, I know I was for a long time until I truly started to understand the essence of what yoga is about. If you’re looking for something fairly gentle I’d suggest the Thurs morning session. So, I have an idea that I’d like to take forward; I’d like to offer shorter sessions for the less mobile of you out there. It will be gentle, much of which will be chair-based. Sessions of around 30 mins or so. Gentle movement that will open the body, that will slowly bring strength, stability, relieve stress, bring calm. If this is something you’d be interested in, please do PM me via email, messenger, text.... We’ll go at a pace that works for you. Get in touch.
